Tree Planting Trim Park and Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary
Office Co. and Walker Creek Office Park Announces the Annual Tree Planting Day to Promote Environmental Stewardship
Office Co. and Walker Creek Office Park, is proud to announce their first Tree Planting Day in collaboration with the Tshwane Nature Conservation and FARBS.
Several members of the Office Co. and Walker Creek Office Park recently joined FARBS (the Friends of Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary) and we are looking forward to many interesting and uplifting projects.
The planting of 8 trees – 4 in The Trim Park and 4 in The Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary, is scheduled for 10:00 am on Thursday 14 September.
This event underscores the City’s and FARBS’ commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement, as we strive to make a positive impact and create a place for the enjoyment of the community as well as the birds and wildlife in the area.
The Office Co. situated in the Walker Creek Office Park, nestles next to The Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary, which became the first bird refuge in Pretoria when it was opened in October 1956.
Located in the picturesque Walkerspruit, Open Space System, in Pretoria’s Nieuw Muckleneuk suburb, this office park is an ideal destination for companies seeking a workspace that balances productivity with a serene environment.
One of our shared abiding values is to make a positive difference in the Community and also fostering a strong sense of Community among our members.
Therefore, in celebration of both Arbor Day and advent of Spring this year, Office Co. reached out to Tshwane Nature Conservation and Friends of Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary with the aim of making a donation of some ‘Avian friendly’ indigenous, Red Ivory trees to the Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary and Trim Park.
Engaging in conservation efforts and participating in activities that support the Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary’s and Trim Park’s upkeep will create a sense of shared purpose and pride among our community members and team.
Together, we can create a powerful force for positive change, where business success and environmental stewardship walk hand in hand.
Work-life balance takes on a new meaning, when during lunch breaks or on weekends, a professional team or family can take leisurely strolls along the sanctuary’s trails, connecting with nature and recharging their energy.
Participating in activities such as guided bird-watching tours, community clean-up drives, and nature walks can significantly contribute to well-being and job satisfaction.
It will serve as an opportunity for team building, stress relief, and connection with the natural world, ultimately leading to increased productivity and creativity in our workspace.
Let’s embark on this journey together, celebrating the beauty of nature while securing a brighter and more sustainable future for all.
“We believe that small actions can lead to significant changes, and that’s why our Tree Planting Day is so important to us,” said Karin Penzhorn, Office Co. Marketing Manager.
Anne-Marie Sparg, Chairman of FARBS (the Friends of Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary), said that “By involving the community in planting trees and educating them about the vital role trees play in our ecosystem, we hope to inspire a collective commitment to environmental stewardship.”
